Ulla Grove Krogsgaard Thomsen has decided to leave Novo Nordisk Pharmatech with a wish to
pursue a new and different career.
Ulla joined Novo Nordisk in 1997 as a scientist and soon moved into leadership. As Head of Pro-
tein Engineering, she shaped the protein strategy and helped develop therapies including
semaglutide. Ulla also led the global approval of the mammalian cell production facility in
Hillerød and the new NovoSeven® production facility in Kalundborg.
Ulla was appointed CEO of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech in 2021. Under her leadership, the com-
pany has grown substantially, with sales doubling and reaching DKK 1 billion in 2025. She has
been instrumental in developing and executing Novo Nordisk Pharmatech ́s ambitious growth
strategy and in bringing new products to market. Equally important, Ulla has tirelessly champi-
oned diversity in leadership and has been a driving force behind strengthening the learning cul-
ture across Novo Nordisk Pharmatech.
